/ STEM MASTERING

More control, better translation. Without re-opening the mix.

Stem mastering sits between mixing and mastering. You send 2 to 8 grouped stems, I balance, tone-shape and master them as a coherent whole. Ideal when the mix is 95% there and you want surgical control on the master bus.

/ HOW TO PREPARE STEMS

Clean stems, clean master.

The cleaner the stems arrive, the more I can shape on the final bus. Keep all stems the same length, exported from the same start point, with no master-bus processing.

  • Export 2 to 8 stems (typically drums, bass, music, vocal, FX)
  • All stems same length, same start point (bar 1)
  • Bypass master-bus limiter and bus compressor
  • Keep individual channel processing committed
  • Leave 6 dB headroom on each stem
  • Name clearly: Artist - Track - 01 Drums.wav, 02 Bass.wav…
  • Send your stereo rough mix as reference
