Used as an 808 plugin on the master bus, ThuMP separates the attack of the 808 from its sustain. The click and the initial transient go to the clipper, where a short peak can be shortened without anyone hearing it. The body of the note stays in the Sub band, level-dependent, so a long glide keeps its pitch instead of collapsing into low-frequency noise.
That is the difference between an 808 limiter that is only a ceiling and one that understands what it is holding. You see per band gain reduction, so if the 808 is doing all the work, you know before the mastered file goes out.

Trap mastering asks for two things at once: an average level that competes on streaming, and hi-hat rolls that still tick rather than buzz.
